Our association is made up of Peruvian students, professionals, and amateurs who are passionate about herpetology and its conservation. Through our research, education, and outreach programs, we strive to increase awareness about the importance of preserving the rich diversity of amphibians and reptiles in Peru.

Luis Castillo Roque
President
Biologist, Master in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management, Collaborating Researcher in Herpetology at the UNMSM Natural History Museum.
Co-founder of the NGO GRUPO RANA, expert advisor and coordinator for the Denver Zoological Foundation.
Regional member of the IUCN Amphibian Specialist Group.
Ling Huamaní Valderrama
Secretary
Biologist, she is currently studying a Master's degree in Zoology with a mention in Systematics and Evolution.
Her interest focuses on the study of amphibians and reptiles, mainly high Andean and coastal lizards of the genus Liolaemus.
Her field of action is systematics, taxonomy, ecology and conservation.
Vladimir Díaz Vargas
First Vocal
Biologist, with a specialty in Ecology and Natural Resources from the National University of San Cristóbal de Huamanga, with study interest in biodiversity and wildlife conservation, focused on amphibians and reptiles in southern Peru.
He is currently researching the diversity of herpetofauna in the montane forests of the department of Ayacucho.
Edson Huamaní Japan
Third Vocal
Graduate of Biology, with research interest in ecology, biodiversity and conservation in Amphibians and Reptiles.
With experience in management and identification of specimens in scientific collections, conservation projects and reptile biometrics.
He is currently Co-founder and coordinator of the UNFV Herpetology Network, seeking to promote interest in the herpetofauna of the Lima region.
Vanessa Sánchez Montes

Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, with interest in conservation medicine studies of amphibians and reptiles.
Since I was little, in the city where I lived, I observed different species of reptiles among the trees or rocks, as well as the problems that these individuals faced, which inspired me to study veterinary medicine and to train in the medicine of these species through courses and diplomas and collaborate in research projects in favor of its conservation.
Currently, I am working providing comprehensive health control services for farms, breeding centers and/or zoos for both wild and exotic reptiles.
Juan Carlos Jordán Arizmendi
Vice President
Biologist, with a major in Zoology from the Faculty of Biological Sciences. Master in Pollution Management and Control at the Faculty of Geological, Mining, Metallurgical and Geographic Engineering of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM).
Researcher and Head of the Department of Herpetology at the Tropical Biology and Conservation Research Center- CINBIOTYC.
He has developed numerous works within the area of scientific research in the field of saurian ecology, mainly in northwest Peru.
Antonio W. Salas
Treasurer
Biologist, with master's and doctoral studies.
He has carried out research and publications on Peruvian and foreign species.
As a child, he was fond of breeding lizards, but his entry into herpetology was accidental.
Andrea Gutiérrez Delgado

Since she was a child, she was intrigued by the world of dinosaurs, which led her to pay special attention to amphibians and reptiles.
She has carried out studies on thermal limits in amphibians and their extraordinary adaptation to their environments.
